Building Habits

Building Habits Privacy

How the app uses habit information, optional Apple Health connections, and reminders—and the controls available to you.

Last updated:

Building Habits is provided by 1011 Innovations under the 1011 Studios brand. This notice describes the current prerelease app, which is not yet available on the App Store. Features and their availability may change before release. Privacy for the studio website is covered separately.

Information used by the app

Building Habits stores the habit information you create on your device, including names, categories, goals, schedules, recorded progress, fasting sessions, and reminder preferences. It uses those records to display your habits, calculate progress, and provide the features you choose. Appearance and other preferences are also stored locally.

The current app does not require a 1011 Studios account and does not include an app-operated server upload, advertising SDK, or analytics SDK. Local app records are not automatically sent to 1011 Studios. This does not exclude Apple’s device services, backups, or information you choose to email us.

Optional Apple Health access

Where supported, you can choose to connect a habit to Apple Health. The app requests permission to read the health information needed for the selected connection, such as steps, workouts, body-weight measurements, or blood-pressure readings. It uses that information to derive habit progress. Connections depend on the app version, device capabilities, and permissions you choose.

Building Habits requests read-only access and does not write records to Apple Health. It stores connection settings and derived habit progress locally, including counts or completion status. Those progress records are not a separate copy of the underlying Health samples. Manual habits remain available without connecting Apple Health.

You can review or revoke the app’s access in Apple Health. Revoking access stops future reads of the affected data; it does not itself delete previously saved habit progress. Deleting a habit in Building Habits does not delete its original Apple Health records. See Apple’s Health data controls for managing Health information separately.

Reminders and notification privacy

If you allow notifications, Building Habits schedules reminders on your device. Reminder text can include habit details, depending on your preferences. You can use the app’s reminder-detail settings to limit what is shown, and change notification permissions in your device settings. Notifications may be visible to others who can see your screen.

Keeping and deleting your data

Habit records are kept locally for use in the app until you delete them. Archiving a habit is not deletion: it preserves the habit’s history. The app’s Delete Habit action removes that habit and its associated local records, including related fasting records, Health connection settings, and derived progress. Original Apple Health data is managed separately through Apple Health.

Your device’s backup settings may include app data in an iCloud or computer backup. Deleting records from the app does not remove an existing backup. Backups and any later restoration are controlled by your device and Apple services, not by 1011 Studios. Read what iCloud backs up for more information about those copies.

Support messages

If you email us, we receive your message, email address, and any attachments you send. We use those details to respond to your request. We cannot inspect or delete your on-device habit database remotely. Please do not send passwords, private health records, or unredacted screenshots. You can describe a problem without sharing your habit history.

We retain inquiry and support emails for 12 months after the matter is resolved, then delete them, unless a legal obligation requires us to retain them longer.

Questions and changes

For privacy questions, or to ask about correcting or deleting information you have sent in correspondence, contact 1011 Innovations at support@1011studios.net. We will update this notice if the app’s data practices change. The date above identifies this version.
